October 2026 Events in Avalon & Stone Harbor, NJ - Summer may be over, but there is still plenty happening on Seven Mile Island! October is a wonderful time to enjoy Avalon and Stone Harbor, NJ, with cooler temperatures, quieter beaches, great dining, fall festivals and Halloween fun.

Stone Harbor Fall Restaurant Weekend
October 8–11, 2026
Come hungry! Stone Harbor's Fall Restaurant Weekend is a great opportunity to enjoy some of your favorite local restaurants or discover someplace new. Participating restaurants will feature special menus and seasonal dining experiences throughout the weekend.
Fall is one of our favorite times to dine on Seven Mile Island, when the summer crowds have eased and you can slow down and enjoy everything Stone Harbor has to offer.
Avalon Arts & Seafood Festival
Saturday, October 10 | 10:00 AM–5:00 PMSurfside Park – 30th Street & the Beach
One of Avalon's signature fall events returns in October! The Avalon Arts & Seafood Festival features fresh local seafood, artisan vendors, live entertainment and activities for the whole family.
Visitors can browse fine art, handmade jewelry, home décor and other creations while sampling food from area restaurants. Kids' activities and beach hayrides add to the fun, while football fans can catch the games at the Sound Advice Lounge.
It's a great reason to spend an October Saturday at the Shore.
Stone Harbor Classic & Vintage Car Show
Saturday, October 10 | 10:00 AM–1:00 PM96th Street, Stone Harbor
Car enthusiasts won't want to miss Stone Harbor's Classic & Vintage Car Show. Head downtown to see a collection of classic automobiles on display along 96th Street.
After the show, stick around for a parade of the classic cars through town and enjoy some shopping or lunch while you're there.
Fall Dune Grass Planting in Avalon
Saturday, October 24 | 8:30 AM
Give back to the island by participating in Avalon's annual Fall Dune Grass Planting. Volunteers meet at Avalon Community Hall before heading to the beach to help plant dune grass.
It's a great community event that helps protect and preserve Avalon's beautiful beaches and dunes.
Fall Beach Sweep – Avalon & Stone Harbor
Saturday, October 24 | 9:00 AM–12:30 PM
Help keep Seven Mile Island beautiful during the annual Fall Beach Sweep.
Volunteers can participate in Avalon at the 30th Street Boardwalk or in Stone Harbor at the 95th Street Beach. It's an easy way for residents, homeowners and visitors to give a little back to the beaches we all enjoy.
Halloween Fun on Seven Mile Island
October 24 is also packed with Halloween activities!
In Stone Harbor, families can visit participating businesses in the downtown shopping district for seasonal trick-or-treating.
Later that evening, Avalon hosts its Trunk or Treat from 5:00–7:00 PM at the parking lot at 30th Street and Avalon Avenue. Decorated cars, costumes, treats and music make this a fun evening for the kids.
Then, on Saturday, October 31, Avalon and Stone Harbor celebrate Halloween with island-wide trick-or-treating from 5:00–8:00 PM.
Fall Is a Beautiful Time on Seven Mile Island
October brings a completely different feel to Avalon and Stone Harbor. The beaches are quieter, the temperatures are comfortable and there are still plenty of reasons to spend a weekend at the Shore.
Take a walk on the beach, visit the shops, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant or attend one of the many community events happening throughout the month.
